Shabazz Palaces have always drawn inspiration from the heart and human instinct; the Seattle-based hip hop voyagers produce transcendental albums from an intuitive frame of mind. ‘Black Up’ was fiercely poetic, whereas ‘Lese Majesty’ felt as spiritual as the free-form sci-fi dreamscapes of Sun Ra and Alice Coltrane.
