Sarah Davachi
Curated by Jenny Hval
That strange intermediate state during lucid dreams, when the body physically reacts to images summoned by your imagination: that’s a pretty apt way to describe the impact of Sarah Davachi’s ambient compositions. This Canadian-born, Los Angeles-based artist uses both acoustic instrumentation (piano, woodwinds, strings, organs) and electronics (analogue synths, modular synths & drones) as tools to straddle the chasms between harmonics and noise. True to that very method, she’ll perform a live composition with church organ and electronics.
