Norwegian-born, Berlin-based artist Stíne Janvin has the special ability to morph and manipulate her vocals into beautiful sound abstractions, to the point even where you forget it’s a voice to begin with. On top of that, Janvin experiments avidly with unusual concert formats, sometimes deliberately removing herself from the stage to incite a deeper listening experience. If Janvin has proven one thing throughout her immersive study of the human voice: live music can still be a highly moving experience without relying on performative emotion.
