Rapper and producer Pink Siifu’s mercurial talent for intersecting styles and culture can be compared to the manifestation of a tropical storm: an unchecked force of nature that hoovers up everything it encounters. ‘NEGRO’, the follow-up to Siifu’s fragmented lo-fi masterpiece ‘ensley’, employs influences from Sun Ra, Bad Brains and the late great Ras G to materialise a firebrand, revolutionary assault on police brutality and racism.
