Each year, Le Guess Who? invites guest curators to create their own dedicated programs, highlighting their inspirations, emerging acts and fellow like-minded artists, with an emphasis on discovery and exploration.
Visionary contemporary artist Tianzhuo Chen introduces his curation at Le Guess Who? 2025 with a personally compiled playlist.
Known for his elaborate performances—such as TRANCE, where he incorporates live music, dance, installations, video and photography—multidisciplinary and visionary contemporary artist Tianzhuo Chen makes his debut at Le Guess Who? 2025 as guest curator. His curation reflects an eclectic and fragmented artistic vision, where raw sounds and noise textures blend with majestic vocals and hypnotic rhythms.
For Le Guess Who? 2025, guest curator Tianzhuo Chen not only brings a multidisciplinary performance together with Siko Setyanto, Nova Ruth & Kadapat, but also takes audiences on an immersive and intertwining musical journey—boundless, yet still to be discovered.
The playlist features DIEMAJIN, consisting of Berlin-based producer DJ DIE SOON and Tokyo-based vocalist MA; groundbreaking guitarist and pivotal figure in the Chinese noise music scene, Li Jianhong; Shanghai native producer and innovator of the club music scene, 33EMYBW; Balinese duo Kadapat, who challenges the boundary between synthetic and organic music by fusing electronic music with traditional gamelan instruments; Japanese dubstep musician, GOTH-TRAD, spanning from rave and dark sounds to jungle and reggae; Berlin based vocalist, DJ and sound artist, Sara Persico; DJ DIE SOON, who is known for his dystopian, apocalyptic beats that create spectral underground energy; and Nova Ruth, activist for women’s rights and environmental issues, with a musical range spanning hip-hop to rock.
Furthermore, the playlist gives space to innovative and conceptual projects, such as HULUBALANG, a musical project by electronic producer Gabber Modus Operandi which explores the historical conflict history of Indonesia; and ZAÄAR, a Belgian collective who performs psychedelic free jazz with tribal-surrealist soundscapes designed to be incredibly hypnotising.
