Spāre & Roma Vjazemski
COSMOS
Sound and visual artist Spāre creates delicate, cinematic soundscapes that drift between the organic and the artificial. Working with violin, electronics, pump organ, field recordings and environmental sound, she explores humor and calmness beyond language. Her layered, collage-like compositions often emerge from imagined perspectives of animals or objects, translating how they might perceive and experience the world into sound.
Electronic artist Roma Vjazemski began his career as a hip-hop producer and then developed a deep fascination with funk and disco, which also lead him to become host of a radio show. Gradually, his focus shifted more toward electronic music, where he found his distinctive voice in ambient-leaning downtempo soundscapes.
These two artists are performing together as part of Baltic Rehearsals, a residency project that supports the creation of new music from Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn. The project is initiated by COSMOS Embassy ICRN, together with radio stations Tīrkultūra and IDA.
