Like his forbears Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, Sessa casts a beguiling spell over the listener with his sultry, jazz-flavoured folk rock. But there’s a gravitas to Sessa’s music as well, recalling the misty cobblestoned romanticism of Leonard Cohen at certain moments. Sessa’s breakthrough album ‘Grandeza’ is described by the songwriter himself as “a gesture of love and the softness of the human body.”
