Born in Notting Hill of Grenadian parentage, Dubplate Pearl is a South London digger and selector whose music-loving parents influenced her taste and passion. She started her music journey through sound system culture and record stores. In 1974, when she was 14 years old, she bought her first 7”, a vinyl that would unfold into a lifelong practice. 36 years later, she started DJing, sharing her knowledge and story through her vast and beloved collection of jazz, soul, calypso and reggae.
