With over twenty releases under a closely-related variety of names – Orinoka Crash Suite, OCS, Orange County Sound, The Ohsees, The Oh Sees, and Thee Oh Sees, and now just Oh Sees – frontman John Dwyer is clearly not concerned with building a brand. While the songwriter and guitarist is arguably an icon in San Francisco’s garage scene, his love for improvisation and experimentation results in a discography that includes punk, improvised jazz, death metal, and chamber pop. As he told The Guardian in 2017, “it would be boring otherwise.” In addition to all this musical production, Dwyer co-runs label Castle Face Records - and for the 2021 edition of Le Guess Who? he will curate a program that will be as eclectic and surprising as his own sound.
