Angel Bat Dawid
Born to missionaries in Atlanta, Angel Bat Dawid followed her family from Georgia to Kentucky to Kenya – and when they settled in Chicago, she took up clarinet and music education. Nowadays, she makes music which draws heavily from her multicultural upbringing, as well as her many interests, which range from Yusef Lateef to Mozart. At this year’s Le Guess Who? she will present herself solo; but she will certainly bring with her the presence of her diverse influences and burning radical hope.
