Six years ago, Peter Kember, or Sonic Boom, traded his England home for Portugal. Partly, his move was to be closer to Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, with whom the Spacemen 3 founder had forged a friendship built on mutual admiration nearly a decade prior. After working together on Panda Bear and Animal Collective releases alike, the pair have come out with their first outright collaboration, ‘Reset’. On it, both creatives pour over their fondness of sixties pop in a sample-based, sunshine-filled record. As we all emerge from a cloud of darkness, it is a much-needed sonic balm of psych-pop happiness.
