‘The leading light of the new generation of Brazilian songwriters’, ‘music of nowhere and everywhere’, ‘brilliant’ - everybody from no-wave icon Arto Lindsay, The New York Times and Spectrum Culture have gushed over this experimental Rio de Janeiro musician and composer. Thiago Nassif’s fourth record ‘Mente’, was released in the summer of 2020. The album’s title, a Portuguese homonym meaning both ‘mind’ and ‘to lie’, reflects Brazil’s ‘post-truth’ political climate, according to the artist, as well as the record’s own avant-garde ilk.
