As part of Bo Ningen's curation at Le Guess Who?, the Japanese psych-rock outfit invited Gorgonn & Utku Önal to premiere their overwhelming audiovisual project Six Paths live at the festival.
We now have the honor to share the extended teaser of the project: an intense experience with audio recorded live at Le Guess Who?, to fully immerse yourself in.
According to Japanese Buddhism, when someone dies they are brought down one of six paths depending on the karma amassed in previous lives. On his full-length debut, Six Paths, Gorgonn muses on spiritual destinations, life after death, and more, via dense and futuristic wobbles.
The musician presents his work alongside Berlin-based visual artist Utku Önal, whose music videos reinvent the aesthetic rules of horror cinema with new media tools. Here, Gorgonn's daring mesh of techno, dub, and others finds a fitting home in Önal's atmospheric and surreal visual world-building.
