Debuted by BBC Radio 6 Music with Mary Anne Hobbs, Le Guess Who? 2024 artists Rafael Anton Irisarri and KMRU reveal their new, collaborative track Red Moon Tide. The track is part of veteran composer and Ghostly International alumnus Irisarri's new album FAÇADISMS, to be released on 8 November.
Composed over three years, FAÇADISMS continues Irisarri’s obsession with repeating motifs, mirroring the cyclical nature of our tumultuous political history. Red Moon Tide is hauntingly beautiful in all it's destructive force. Out of the dense haze, overwhelming melodies appear and envelop the listener. With the track clocking in at seven minutes, Red Moon Tide feels like a daydream that momentarily takes over the listener's full attention, and it's over before you know it - making you return for multiple listens.
Rafael Anton Irisarri performs live at Le Guess Who? 2024 in collaboration with Abul Mogard, co-curated with Reworks. KMRU performs with Kevin Richard Martin, co-curated with Semibreve. Both performances are supported by TIMES.
