On Wednesday June 17th, platform JAM. organizes an exhibition offering the opportunity to experience different ways of musical discovery, taking place at Verhalenhuis Belvédère in Rotterdam. Le Guess Who?’s hybrid platform COSMOS will join the panel of the event, and will host the screening of five Embassy Films.
In a time when discovering music is largely done digitally and it is becoming increasingly attractive for streaming services to push AI music, JAM. offers a counter-narrative. During this exhibition, JAM. provides space for what is lost through the digitalization of music discovery: community, connection, and spontaneity. During this event, they offer visitors the chance to discover different ways of music together, in collaboration with Verhalenhuis Belvédère and COSMOS.
COSMOS is Le Guess Who?’s hybrid platform that highlights independent music scenes from around the world. Vibrant music communities from every corner of the map become COSMOS Embassies and share their stories—both online and offline—through mixtapes, films, live radio, conversations and performances. On June 17th, platform JAM. will screen the following Embassy Films:
- Detroit, USA (7:16)
- Karachi, Pakistan (24:06)
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (10:00)
- London, UK (04:27)
- Panama City, Panama (15:02)
The event takes place on Wednesday June 17th from 12:00 to 16:00 at Verhalenhuis Belvédère in Rotterdam (Rechthuislaan 1). The program includes:
