Oliver Coates announces new album, shares 'A Church'
Wednesday Jun 6th 2018
London cellist, composer and producer Oliver Coates has just announced his new album 'Shelley's On Zenn-La', to be released in September via RVNG Intl. The album follows collaborations with artists like Terry Riley, Thom Yorke, Mica Levi, Laurel Halo and director Paul Thomas Anderson. It is the follow-up to his solo LP 'Upstepping' from 2016.
"Inspired in part by Shelley's Laserdome, a legendary nightclub in Stoke-on-Trent that closed in 1992, the album is described as coming from a "realm out of time and space" where Shelley's "can simultaneously exist on the fictional planet of Zenn-La, and can house a devotional, alien ritual of early UK rave culture, pioneering IDM, and deep minimalism." - Resident Advisor
