Nusantara Beat is an Amsterdam-based six-piece, consisting of members of EUT, Altın Gün, Jungle By Night, POM and Surf Aid-Kit. Through Swiss label Les Disques Bongo Joe and Indonesian label La Munai Records (who are also one of our COSMOS Embassies this year), they now announce the release of their second EP, on which they breathe new life into a timeless 70’s Indonesian classic.
The group is set to revive a bygone era of Indonesian music with their 7” double single Kota Bandung / Layung, set to release on 10 November. Layung is reminiscent of 70’s Indonesian love songs, serving as a powerful reminder of the beauty found in the Indonesian Archipelago, while Kota Bandung serves as a tribute to the people, atmosphere, and picturesque landscapes of Bandung, Indonesia.
