De Nijverheid: interview with Daan Bruinhof
De Nijverheid, a cultural haven in Utrecht’s Werkspoorkwartier, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2027. Over the years, it has grown into an important space for artists, creators and other cultural and creative organizations, with studios for more than 70 makers, as well as exhibition spaces, an art café and a terrace.
The lease for their grounds was recently extended until 2040, which makes it a fitting moment to reflect on this place, one of our beloved U? festival locations.
In this series, we’re talking to five people from De Nijverheid's community, including a dancer, a studio holder, the co-founder and a visitor, who each have their own personal connection to the space. For our second interview, we speak with Daan Bruinhof.
Musician and producer Daan Bruinhof is a sound engineer at De Nijverheid. A few times a month, she takes her place behind the sound console at concerts and events.
