COSMOS is back behind the decks of Refuge Worldwide. This time, we've invited cellist and composer Yuki Nakagawa (one half of Kakuhan), who blends classic Japanese sound art with choice cuts from the NAKID Records catalogue. For the second hour, we're treated to a special live-set by Malaysian producer extraordinaire rEmPiT g0dDe$$.
Yuki Nakagawa is a cellist and composer from Kyoto, Japan. As an instrumentalist, he is best known for his distinctive use of handmade bows, and employing extended techniques that treat the cello in a percussive manner. Nakagawa is one half of KAKUHAN, his duo with Koshiro Hino (goat/YPY), and a member of Saraudon. His solo debut, Stills and Remains, came out on 2026 via Unheard of Hope.
In this mix for COSMOS, Nakagawa mixes Japanese sound art staples with choice cuts from the catalogue of Koshiro Hino’s label NAKID, a 2026 COSMOS Embassy.
Malaysian producer rEmPiT g0dDe$$ is a key figure of Southeast Asia’s underground scene, and a champion of queer voices across the region. With her potent mix of deconstructed club sounds, industrial beats, and a knack for melodies, she has become a globally renowned figure with an extensive touring schedule.
In this special live-set for COSMOS, two of her original compositions replay simultaneously as one memory of a person loved and lost; surfacing slowly and blurred, before sharpening toward the speed at which it actually all happened. The echo tries to dissolve—it can only dissolve by remembering.
