Founded in 1981, pioneering dub-reggae ensemble African Head Charge has gone on to achieve cult status with epic live shows and 13 albums under their belt. Now, the group returns to On-U Sound with A Trip To Bolgatanga, their first new album in twelve years.
A Trip To Bolgatanga is described as a musical journey to founding member, master percussionist and royal rastaman Bonjo Iyabinghi Noah's current hometown in north Ghana, with close friend and co-conspirator Adrian Sherwood once again at the controls. Tune in below.
African Head Charge perform at Le Guess Who? 2023 on Thursday, 9 November.
