Zsela’s dynamite debut album ‘Big For You’ lives up to its larger-than-life name; it’s bold, raw, vulnerable, and, all in all, an introduction difficult to forget. Produced alongside collaborators Daniel Aged, Gabe Wax, Marc Ribot, Jasper Marsalis (Slauson Malone), and others, the first we hear of Zsela ebbs between grandiosity and intimacy, following on the heels of the 2020 EP ‘Ache of Victory’, which the New York Times deemed ‘emotive yet elusive’. The artist herself compared it to ‘trying to welcome uncertainty like a warm embrace’. With a soundtrack like this, it feels easy.
