Rodrigo Ambriz

Rodrigo Ambriz has spent the last sixteen years seamlessly swimming in and out of genres, contexts, and languages within the Mexican experimental music space. From the interpretation of contemporary pieces to hardcore free improvisation and harsh electronics, the artist has managed to dip his toes in all of it, without ever committing to just one. One of the common threads is his voice, which Ambriz kneads as needed into other-worldly vocalizations. His magnetic tape processes, often nicknamed by the artist himself as ‘low-budget electroacoustic’, are also part of his cast of characters, which frequently also include other divergent artists, filmmakers, and dancers.
