Through varied timbres, textures, melodic collages and percussive figures, Gintė Preisaitė explores the spaces of transcendence and transformation between acoustic instrumentation and the electronic processing. Moving between ambient, drone and experimental songwriting, she explores themes of escapism and memory through sound. On her latest album Instruments of Forgetting and the Singing Bone, her classical and improvisational background collide with playful, sample-based approaches as she embraces a raw approach to songwriting, moving through acoustic timbres, drones and analogue sound processing. Fragile and emotional, it reflects a deeply personal sense of where composition begins and ends, filled with magical realism and folky, ethereal modes.
