By blending melody and noise, London-based Mexican violinist, composer, and improviser Gibrana Cervantes has bewitched audiences in her home country and furthermore. Thanks to her metal background, Cervantes is unafraid to use noise as a compositional tool. The newest release ‘V​ó​rtex Submarino’ serves as a fitting chapter following last year’s star-making EP ‘¿C​ó​mo Pasamos la Eternidad?’, but it was actually recorded live in 2021. This way, we are lucky to catch a glimpse into some of what to expect on the stage.
