In 2009, sound artist and composer FUJI|||||||||||TA hand fabricated an original instrument—a keyboard-less pipe organ—that became the foundation of his practice. Drawn to natural phenomena, he explores the creation of unheard sounds with minimal use of air, subtle tonal shifts and subdued variations. In recent years, switching to an electric air pump activated new sonic and compositional potential, while he also developed a new singing technique: exhaling and inhaling together with the organ to produce his “third voice”.
Post-apocalyptic acid punk disco scuzzheads Tropical Fuck Storm return to Le Guess Who? for a guest curation that feels like a homecoming. When asked to select artists for this year's edition, they went, as they put it, "a little wild". They've curated a sonically diverse mix featuring longtime musical inspirations, friends and collaborators; artists that they've met on the road, and acts that they've been eager to see live.
