Aftab Sr. was born in what was, up until the seventies, the beating cultural heart of Pakistan - Lahore. Raised amidst culture (music, fine arts, crafts, progressive literature, socio-political discourse, and civil rights movements), Aftab Sr. grew up enlivened by the arts, developing a special fondness for literature and music he has to this day. He’s passed his passion for music onto his daughter, Arooj Aftab. Aftab Sr. is bringing a filmed performance of love poetry sung in his Lahore home to Le Guess Who?, covering several of the master singers from the latter half of the past century.
