EDU & JUDGITZU
Vodou ensemble EDU and producer JUDGITZU come together in one continuous piece developed during a residency in Togo. Drums, bells and call-and-response vocals sit at the centre of this Vodou practice. Repetition is the method, as patterns circle and interlock while small shifts accumulate over time. JUDGITZU’s electronics follow the same logic: tempo changes stay slight, pitches move in semitones, and sections grow through layering rather than breaks. Bass and synthesis extend the force of the drums without softening their intensity. The result is a transcendental crescendo of live percussion and electronic music, taking shape into an ecstatic club ritual.
