Tony & Billa
This project brings together two world-renowned maestros of their instruments: Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan (Tony) on sitar and Ustad Shahbaz Hussain (Billa) on tabla. With Tony & Billa, they set aside their honorific titles and engage in risky improvisations, letting themselves be guided purely by Raag, the melodic framework of Indian classical music. Pakistani musicians playing edgy “Indian Classical”, they dubbed it Raagdari. Formed in Europe, they matured during yearly visits to Pakistan, eventually becoming permanent and formidable duo, with a debut album released by record label and COSMOS Embassy, Honiunhoni.
