‘Dos City’, Tokyo-based experimental hip-hop trio Dos Monos’ 2019 debut album, followed the hype the eccentric group had spawned through their live performances around Japan and in Europe even before its release. Balancing ‘uncool’ jazz and hyperactive verse spitting, the 34-minute record, released via off-center hip-hop staple label Deathbomb Arc, is only an introduction to the group’s uncompromised and intense sound - a certain promise of more purely original cacophony to come.
