Detroit native DJ Stingray 313, real name Sherard Ingram, is a menacing node in the vast tangle of electronic music's history, present, and future. His eyes, which shine behind the mask which otherwise often veils the rest of his features, see into the future, as he, while making people move via his nexus of electro, house, and techno, also thinks ahead. An established figure in his city’s scene since the earliest of days, DJ Stingray 313 first appeared on the genre-defining 1991 compilation ‘Equinox’, under the alias electronic historians will recognize - Urban Tribe.
