Chuck Strangers fell in love with hip-hop in 2005; for his thirteenth birthday, he was gifted an Akai MPC2000, the iconic workstation immortalized by the likes of J Dilla, Kanye West, and many more. From there, a beautiful relationship blossomed, bringing us to this year’s ‘A Forsaken Lover’s Plea’; a love letter in rhythm and rhymes to Chuck Strangers’ tangled, storied, and often-tested rap connection. The lasting, never-wavering affair to the art form gave way to a fully-fledged present that the Brooklyn-rapper now gives back to hip-hop, setting his sights forward.
