In the upcoming queer Latinx scene, there aren’t many bands like Blanco Teta. Onto all the hallmarks of their punk forebears, the quarter adds an unlikely yet compelling new element; the processed cello. Since 2017, they have been bending the instrument's strings anew beneath Josefina Barreix’s riotous vocals, and, all the while, expiring (or, rather, yelling) fresh air into Buenos Aires venues through their immersive live shows. They adhere to punk music’s principal rule; that there are none.
