Traveling musical family TENGGER creates a singular body of work that blurs the boundaries between psychedelic music, drone, New Age and ritual performance. Using voice, synths, electronics and immersive audio-visual environments, their performances unfold through repetition, intuition and deep listening, inviting audiences into a shared sensory experience.
Their new work, SKY (out now via Guruguru Brain) is shaped as a continuous sonic environment that incorporates field recordings alongside luminous synth textures, meditative drones and breath-like vocals. It reflects the group’s ongoing interest in perception, atmosphere and states of awareness that move beyond fixed emotional narratives.
TENGGER have always moved together, through time, space and genre. SKY arrives as a new chapter: a little more still, a little more inward, while keeping all the warmth that's always been at the heart of what they do. Embodying the band name meaning "endless sky" in Mongolian and "vast sea" in Hungarian, their eighth album centers on the feelings of boundless, infinite expansion. SKY unfolds slowly through luminous synths, patient drones and Itta's breath-like vocals. Like a soft big sky you can actually float on: SKY is vast, warm, and wide open.
TENGGER perform at Le Guess Who? 2026 on Friday, 6 November. Also performing at the festival are a.o. Yasuaki Shimizu, Posuposu Otani, OOIOO and many more.
