Le Guess Who? in Utrecht is a festival for groundbreaking music and culture, taking place 7-10 November 2024. It exists to bring people together through music and art.
U? is its freely accessible city festival, dedicated to celebrating creativity in all its diversity. The festival is created for and with the city of Utrecht to connect people and communities. For U? 2024, we are looking for NL-based (aspiring) curators to highlight their communities and creativity at the festival.
About U?
U? aims to collaborate intensively with a diverse selection of creative partners from Utrecht and beyond. We want to facilitate new experiences, connections, conversations and experiments with and between communities.
Centered upon strengthening relationships between people, U? works to facilitate a range of events, such as performances, residencies, exhibitions, film screenings, food events, public discourse and participatory programs, and essentially any activity that focuses on facilitating new encounters.
U? is looking for community curators
We want to work with new and eager curators who are deeply connected to their scene and community, based in the Netherlands. No prior experience is needed. We are searching for people with a strong drive to share the story of their community, whether through music, (audio)visual art, poetry, workshops, or any other discipline or format.
Participants will have as much ownership as possible over the curation, and we will be there to support you during this trajectory. You will work alongside our program team, who will guide you along the way. From the initial seeds of creativity and brainstorm sessions, to translating your ideas and stories to a physical production, collaborating with our production and marketing teams.
You are welcome to apply as an individual or as a collective. The project will start between May and September. The amount of hours that is required will be determined by mutual agreement, depending on the nature and magnitude of the curation. It is a paid position within the collective labour agreement ‘Poppodia- en Festivals’ that Le Guess Who? uses.
Interested? We'd love to hear from you!
You can respond to this call via a written letter, (graphic) document or a short video (max 3 minutes). Please do so 1 April at the latest.
In your response, please also provide an answer to the following questions:
• Can you tell us about your community and its needs?
• How would you like to work together with your community?
• Do you already have any ideas for a program, we would love to hear these (this is not a necessity).
About Le Guess Who?
Le Guess Who? is an open, close-knit and enthusiastic organization with an informal and dynamic working atmosphere. Because we are a small team that steers away from hierarchies and are always looking for fresh perspectives, this collaboration offers an extensive look at the working methods of the festival, in terms of both programming, as well as marketing and production.
A playground for discovery and exploration,
Le Guess Who? changes minds through music and connects
communities worldwide through the power of sound
