Free jazz collective Irreversible Entanglements, spearheaded by former LGW curator Moor Mother, met amidst an event protesting police brutality. Since then, they have released three full-length albums, the last being 2021's Open The Gates.
Now, the collective add a new offering to their catalogue; their new album Protect Your Light will be released on 8 September and it will be their debut for the legendary Impulse! Records. From a statement from the label: “Their music is not only brilliant but also courageous and contemporary. Protect Your Light embodies so much of Impulse!’s history while also looking unassailably forward as well.”

Irreversible Entanglements perform at Le Guess Who? 2023 on Sunday, 12 November, as part of Stereolab's curation. That same day, the group will be part of The Harvest Time Project: A Tribute to Pharoah Sanders. Also performing at the festival are a.o. Nala Sinephro, Nok Cultural Ensemble, Tom Skinner, Armand Hammer, African Head Charge, and many more.
