Thursday Aug 12th 2021
Kazakh/British violinist and composer Galya Bisengalieva has announced the new album 'Aralkum Aralas', which features remixed tracks from her 2020 album 'Aralkum'. This new collection of remixes will be released 15 October via One Litte Independent and includes contributions of a.o. Moor Mother, Coby Sey, Nazira, Jing, and CHAINES.
Along with the announcement Bisengalieva has shared the first remix for 'Barsa-Kelmes' by Jlin. You can listen to the track below:
“Bisengalieva tactfully merges electronic sounds with varying degrees of processed acoustic instruments to fashion a unified and believable sound world. The structure of each track walks the line between seeming strictly composed and freely improvised. 'Aralkum' is alive with an energy that brings to mind the power of the natural world. Although we may try to control it, its wildness is undeniable." - I Care If You Listen
Galya Bisengalieva will perform at Le Guess Who 2021? as a part of the program presented by Uncloud. Other artists that will perform at the festival are William Basinski performing Lamentations, Arooj Aftab, Lucinda Chua, Ana Roxanne, Vladislav Delay, and many more.
