Ana Frango Elétrico releases new album 'Me Chama De Gato Que Eu Sou Sua'
Ana Frango Elétrico has been hailed as an indie wunderkind and "the most effervescent and innovative voice to surge up from Brazil’s new wave". Their 2019 album, Little Electric Chicken Heart, garnered plural accolades and even a Latin Grammy nomination; now, they releases their third and most confident album to date: Me Chama De Gato Que Eu Sou Sua / Call Me They That I’m Yours.
The album hints to a tradition of Brazilian boogie music, but also adds flourishes of modern pop sensibilities. As the Rio artist also mentions: seventies drums with eighties processing, funk-inflected R&B, art pop, cinematic chanson with lush strings and indie slacker Mac Demarco as well as nods to LGW23 curator Stereolab all grace the album.
