Multidisciplinary artist J.A.D.E crafts a diverse and ever-evolving sound. At her core, she feels most at home within the realm of Neo-Soul, blended with rich R&B influences. She's currently working on her second EP, Slightly Carbonated, in collaboration with Scott Cian.
Slighlty Carbonated is a journey to rediscover, reconnect with, and nurture forgotten parts of ourselves. The moment just before a breakthrough and accepting our shadows. The EP is a mix of funky elements, alternative rhythms, indie like writing and expansive melodies.
Last month, she shared the track Bless your heart, love. It portrays a relationship between two people: the tense relationship you had with a friend, a lover that messed you up with their actions, a parent. With this track, she also invites you to have a conversation with yourself. Thinking back on your life and learn to forgive yourself and others. These themes allow us to reflect on where we're going and want to go. We all make mistakes that hurt and we hopefully learn from.
J.A.D.E's musical journey truly began in late 2018. After writing her own songs, she actively sought out an audience, eventually finding herself on stages like Cinetol, Kwaku Festival, Volkshotel in partnership with Meervaart, and Lowlands with SEXYLAND. The message in J.A.D.E's songs mostly contain parts of her experiences, an uplifting message, feelings or just fun. The intention behind it is to help people realize they are not alone when it comes to experiencing life, feelings and situations. Her motto is simple but powerful:
In her music, she often explores deeply personal moments — from processing trauma and heartbreak to reflecting on the emotional experiences we all go through.
J.A.D.E performs at U? 2025 on Saturday, 8 November, at De Nijverheid. Also performing are a.o. Terno Calunga Estrelada, Kourosh, and many more.
