Ustad Hassan Haider Khan
The art of playing the Shehnai, a traditional South Asian double-reed wind instrument, has been passed down for generations within the family of Ustad Hassan Haider Khan. This has allowed them to continually refine the magical power and dynamics of the instrument. His grandfather, the legendary Hindustani classical musician Ustad Bismillah Khan, was one of India’s most celebrated musicians of all time. Hassan Haider Khan became one of the most prominent Shehnai players today, delivering a hypnotic, mind-expanding experience when he performs North Indian classical ragas.
