Sound & Culture Summit
TIMES (The Independent Movement for Electronic Scenes) is a cooperative project that brings together different European festivals to create original performances that combine music and visual arts. As well as shared programming of artists and the project's original creations, TIMES aims to support, promote and improve diversity and sustainability within the music sector.
TIMES has commissioned various artistic residencies, under the curation of its festival partners. During Le Guess Who? 2026, we'll screen three documentaries filmed as part of these projects.
WILDTRACKS (2025)
Director Andrzej Załęski followed two masters of the art of field recording, Chris Watson and Izabela Dłużyk, in their creative journey. The documentary is an invitation to dive into the creative process behind the making of Białowieża, a multi-channel sonic exploration and installation, which reinterprets nature and plunges into the heart of the Białowieża Forest to bring us a chunk of its breathing.
Directed by Andrzej Załęski. Commissioned by Berlin Atonal, Semibreve, Sónar and Unsound as part of the collaborative curatorial project The Crossing, supported by TIMES.
A Forbidden Distance (2025)
Brothers Mohammed and Mehdi Mehrabani-Yeganeh (Saint Abdullah), producer Ian McDonnel (Eomac), and filmmaker Rebecca Salvatori explore the sense of self in the processes of displacement. Through his camera lens, director Andrzej Załęski documents their creative adventure, raising biographical questions on the meaning of an individual’s life when faced with the need to move.

The Talk (2026)
Four music artists (Heith, Günseli Yalcinkaya, Andrea Belosi and James K) gather around a mysterious artifact: the Antikythera Mechanism. Inspired by the ancient Greek device—considered as the world’s first analogue computer—and shaped through a series of artistic residency journeys across Europe, they create a multidisciplinary performance exploring the intertwined forces of technology and time.Through hypnotic soundscapes and spoken word intervals, the act explores the ways in which narratives, as told through the lens of various technologies, shape our perception of reality.
