Sounds of Cabo Verde
The first Cabo Verdean all-female drumming group from Rotterdam, the Tamboreiras perform powerful rhythms that celebrate the islands’ rich musical and cultural heritage. Since the group was founded two years ago, their performances—which aim to introduce non-Cabo Verdeans to a part of their culture and inspire women—have been in high demand.
This artist is part of Sounds of Cabo Verde, a special program dedicated to the diversity of Cabo Verde music culture, its traditions and the Cabo Verdean diaspora in the Netherlands.
