Shadia Mansour
Curated by aja monet
“The First Lady of Arabic Hip Hop” Shadia Mansour is an MC, singer and producer who entered the musical arena in 2002. As a Palestinian teenager at the forefront of public protests in London, she made her first public appearance at a London rally protesting the illegal occupation of Palestine. Firm in her belief that Arabic hip hop plays an integral role in “globalizing the voice of the struggle” while providing a platform for artists, Shadia has pioneered a movement of conscious, often politically charged music.
