REMIX is a dance production by choreographer, dancer and researcher Sharon MN that explores the transformative power of dance, music and love through the Aymara/Quechua concept of Takipayanaku—“it is made together, between both.” Inspired by Salay, an Andean folkloric dance characterized by its rhythmic footwork, playful flirtation, and collective energy, the work approaches remixing as a practice of re-signifying what we inherit and transforming it into something new, together. At the center of the work is a body that conceals its face yet reveals an intense emotional landscape through movement. Hidden behind a mask, the body becomes a space of vulnerability, courage and transformation.
