Pra Gira Girar
Formed in celebration of the pioneering Brazilian Popular Music trio Os Tincoãs, quartet Pra Gira Girar came together to rediscover new possibilities for the founding chant of group. Rather than treating Afro-Brazilian music as an object of exoticism or mere academic study, they immersed themselves in vocal studies and arrangements reconstruction to shed new light on the group’s repertoire. Over four albums released between the 60s and 70s, Os Tincoãs have built up a legacy whose influence remains profound, even if often overlooked. In 2026, Pra Gira Girar are set to release the results of their journey with the album A Celebration to Os Tincoãs, as well as an album of original songs they have developed in the process.
