Patrick Shiroishi
Friday
19:30 - 20:15
EKKO
Curated by DARKSIDE
Japanese-American musician and composer Patrick Shiroishi is best known for the new ways he bends notes out of the saxophone’s mouthpiece, both in a band setting (The Armed, Wild Up, and Upsilon Acrux) and alone. This spring’s 'A Sparrow in a Swallow's Nest' enters his talents into evidence once more. The musician, who has claimed ‘space is crucial to how he plays’, has occupied stages all over America, and has presented his work in a variety of museums (such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York) - demonstrating his work’s brilliant archival importance.
