Sounds created for no reason. Sounds that come and go. They disappear into the air like a scent, as soon as they materialize, moving freely between rhythm and non-rhythm, noise and silence. Founded in 1995 by legendary percussionist, guitarist & vocalist YoshimiO (also a founding member of Boredoms), OOIOO is a four piece that experiments with rock and avant-garde. Freely weaving organic atonality, abstract vocals and electric tones into a vivid tapestry, they channel their heartfelt musical language—dense and frantic, eclectic yet accessible,—into intense, dadaistic performances.
