Nationally adored Mauritanian musical star Noura Mint Seymali was born into Moorish griot royalty; her father is legendary musician Seymali Ould Ahmed Vall, and she grew up singing alongside step-mother Dimi Mint Abba - a legend in her own right. Seymali, trained in the ardine (a harp reserved for women), went on to make music with her husband Jeich Ould Chighaly, a master of the stringed tidinit. The duo (now a quartet)’s shared dream of bringing Moorish music into the global present has come true, following a string of critically acclaimed releases, collaborations with  Damon Albarn, Shabazz Palaces, and others, and ongoing globe-trotting tours.
