Nihiloxica

Sunshine often underscores Ugandan music - both literally and figuratively. Nihiloxica’s sound, however, is positively pitch-black. On their 2020 LP debut, ‘Kaloli’, the driving Ugandan percussion of the Nilotika Cultural Ensemble meets UK’s pq and Spooky-J’s technoid analog synth lines and hybrid kit playing. The result is an expedition into the uncharted space between dancefloors worlds apart, while something sinister lurks underneath each beat. Following appearances at Nyege Nyege Festival and Berlin’s CTM, Nihiloxica are now steadily moving further into the darkness, as they prepare to present the world an even darker sound.
