Mohammad Syfkhan
Singer and bouzouki player Mohammad Syfkhan worked throughout the 80s, 90s and 2000s playing at parties, weddings and festivals in Syria, while also working as a surgical nurse. After the war broke out in 2011, bringing tragedy to his family, he relocated to Ireland and continues using music to connect with local communities by playing at private parties and concerts. Syfkhan’s debut album, I Am Kurdish, and his live performances (in which the artists accompanies himself with drum machines) brought him to international acclaim. His new release I Love You Ireland, due in 2026, continues his own brand of ecstatic music, creating an atmosphere of love and celebration.
