Mohammad Reza Mortazavi

Mohammad Reza Mortazavi

Always drawn to the rich and diverse sound of traditional Persian percussion instruments tombak and daf, musician and composer Mohammad Reza Mortazavi has developed a unique understanding of music and movement: as multifaceted as it is constantly evolving. His musical ideas transcend traditional techniques and ways of playing both instruments, constantly exploring new possibilities. At the heart of his work lies a balance between concentration and letting go: a changing movement in which the boundaries between body and mind gradually dissolve into one another.
